Good question! No. This is a virtual, at-home challenge. Any miles you complete on your neighborhood jog, around the town ride or event stationary bikes like Peloton and SoulCycle are eligible!

Every registered participant, solo or team, will receive the following:

  • Texas Distance Challenge Decal

To earn a shirt, each participant of Run The Crossing or Run The Loop must complete, at minimum, the first milestone of 1/4 distance.

Participant packets will be sent out monthly. At the start of the challenge a tracking & logging will be available via a custom link sent directly to your email on June 30th. Anyone joining the challenge after July 1 will be sent a logging link within 48hrs of registration.

After registering, you will receive an email from sender “donotreply@mg.resport.io” with one of two subject lines, “Teammate Instructions: [Event Name]” or “Captain Instructions: [Event Name].” (If you are a captain, you will receive both of these emails, and you may log your miles at either link included in the emails.) This email includes a link to your personal tracking page. Be sure to bookmark it! It can take up to 24 hours after registering to receive this email. If you don’t receive your email after 48 hours, check your spam folder, and then reach out to us via the Help Desk.

Have no fear! You can request your logging link by submitting your email HERE.

Darn tootin’! In order to properly document and resolve your requests we kindly ask that you submit this HELP DESK FORM. A team member will be in touch as soon as possible.

Yes! What a relief, huh? Upon registering you’ll receive logging instructions along with access to our portal to link your Strava profile. Be sure you have your Strava login credentials on-hand. Once your account is linked you’ll simply click “New Log Entry” and select the Strava activity! A full tutorial on logging your miles can be found here.

Yes! In addition to connecting to Strava, our logging platform also integrates with Garmin devices. Upon registering you’ll receive logging instructions along with access to our portal to link your Garmin profile.

Yes, it’s OK. This can happen if your computer’s internal time clock is off, or if you enter your mileage from a different time zone than the rest of your team. Nothing to be concerned about.

In order to properly document and resolve your requests we kindly ask that you submit email HERE. A team member will be in touch as soon as possible to handle your request.

“Tags and Stats” allow you categorize entries if you wish. You can create tags such as the type of shoe you ran in, if it was an especially hot day and so forth! Tags will be available to toggle on with each new entry.

100% it does! We encourage you to log every mile you accrue on foot or wheels. We also highly encourage you support other Texas events and earn those miles while enjoying other wonderful events.

Participants have from July 1 to April 30. Why until April? We want to be sure we can incorporate the “Big 3” Texas Marathons into the challenge which take place in December, January and February.

New registrants can retroactively log miles back to the annual July 1 start date! Sign up at any time before April 30 the following year and join the party!

In short, no.

This Texas Distance Challenge is intended to be single-disciple. While the mileage submission is based on the honor system, we’d hope you rise to meet the challenge by sticking to the single-sport option selected during registration to accrue your mileage.

ONE NOTE: We do have some participants that have registered for BOTH running and riding options for an extra special challenge. That is totally ok and welcome. You’ll get more merch too!

Participant swag is one of kind for those taking on the challenge. We do however have some great Kong Printing designed merchandise that will be offered in limited releases throughout the next few months!

Yes it is. We are a small boutique event management and production company with employees in Dallas, Austin and Lubbock, TX! Just a group of folks that love Texas, the outdoors and endurance event. We wanted to offer a virtual challenge that we’d participate in ourselves.

It sure does! This year’s beneficiary is Carry The Load. All participants can make a direct donation during registration or after the start of the challenge.

That’s great news! Send us an email HERE with info, and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible.

Unfortunately, we are not able to offer refunds for this event.

Every mile still counts, so if you forgot to log your mileage yesterday, just upload them today. Whether you have linked your Strava account to the Texas Distance Challenge tracking system or prefer to upload your miles manually, you are able to add mileage to the tracking system as often as you need.

Just remember that when using Strava, you will need to select each workout individually after you’ve synced prior to closing the browser window.

Absolutely! Both workouts will count toward your total. If you are entering your activities manually you can submit them at any point. If you are submitting your activities via Strava, be sure to only sync after your second workout since Strava can only be synced once every 12hrs.

Mercantile Questions?

The Mercantile is a little different than most online or merch stores. This is a community-driven shop.

What does that mean? Pre-orders are taken, but the actual order is not placed unless we are able to hit the community minimum listed for each item.

No it is not! No charges are made unless the minimum is met and a purchase order is triggered.

Nobody wants to pay $35 for a shirt unless they’re reliving their youth at a Motley Crüe concert.

We opted to create this community-driven shop model to ensure that we can create the high-quality products we offer our challengers at a reasonable price.

Once that timer hits zero AND the minimum has been met, we’ll work with Kong Screen Printing to get the order going. Turnaround time for the team to set up the design, print and get it delivered to you is roughly 3 weeks.

Yes. We could get it faster and probably cheaper. Why don’t we? Well, we’re 100% committed to supporting local. Kong runs a great local business that stimulates our economy, supports other entrepreneurs and treats their employees like family.

We’re very comfortable waiting longer for a product to support a Texas-owned business. We hope you feel the same.

Well, that’s a bummer! If the minimum is not met, the design goes back on the “shelves” and we try to do better for ya on the next go around.

No cards are charged and no order is placed.

At the moment, we are only releasing a specific design for that window of time. If we see a demand for a design after the expiry period, we may bring it back for future purchase opportunities!
